Day 1- Dehradun to Gangotri
Day 1-   Dehradun to Gangotri

Get all set to begin the journey from Dehradun at morning 6:30am onward journey to gangotri is located at a distance of 235kms.
The whole journey will be of 8 hrs besides mountains, and the way will pass from Mussoorie, the famous hills station encompasses by the Shivalik Range. The journey will be along the banks of River Ganga, if you ever feel that you are losing energy just have a look at the water of sacred river Ganga it will refresh you as the water looks so clear and refreshing. On the way visit Gangnani; hot spring.
You will go through lush green forest which will soothe your mind and from the places where you will get the views of the Great Himalayas and Harsil.
Route: Dehradun – Mussorie – Dhanulti- Chmba- Uttarkashi- Harshil – Gangotri

Day 2 Gangotri to Chirbassa

Today we have to go through a market and from that trail you will come to a forest area and when you enter there you will have some majestic views of peaks in front, they look mesmerising as you get the front view of mountains. Today’s trek is easy one as you have to walk on levelled trail. Now, the boulder zone starts, be very careful while your ascent because the trail is full of rocks.
Again pass through picturesque dense forest and reach the Chirbasa ground near River Bhagirathi. As the trail will nearly towards the end you will be able to witness the Sudarshan peak properly, then you will finally reach the destination for 2nd day Chirbassa campsite from where you will be able to behold the beauty of Bhagirathi.

Day 3 Chirbassa to Bhojwasa

Today’s trek is easy and you can reach Bhojbasa with no difficulties. Have your breakfast and start your trek. The path is not narrow and the trail will take you through some landslide prone areas. Bhojbasa is the widest part of this valley and the campsite is on a plain terrain beside Bhagirathi River from where Mt Shivling and other snow-capped mountains are clearly visible. The Bhojwasa came from Bhopatra trees or the Birch trees, which are in abundant there.This is the widest part in the valley serving you the first view of Mount Shivling.
As you reach Bhojwasa you will see the widest part of the Mount Shivling, along with that Ashram, and rent houses.
Bhojwasa will be your campsite for the 3rd day, after reaching the campsite relax and have your dinner.

Day 4 Bhojwasa to Tapovan

The trek is not a difficult one but remains covered in snow and the steep and difficult climb starts from Tapovan. The trail takes you through boulder zone, then you have to climb Gangotri glacier, it needs to be traversed carefully with safety. The Bhojwasa came from Bhopatra trees or the Birch trees, which are in abundant there.This is the widest part in the valley serving you the first view of Mount Shivling. You will find ashram, police post and rest house, also some igloo like houses. You can opt staying in those houses but that require permissions. Head to Tapovan and reach there in two hours after crossing steep ascent. Tapovan is a wide meadow that offers the excellent sight of Mt. Meru, Mt. Shivling and Bhagirathi group of peaks. Set up your tents in the desired area and relax for the day

Day 5 Explore Tapovan and Neel Taal

Today you can rest or explore the surroundings, here are caves and you can find saints meditating here. From your campsite enjoy the mesmerizing views of peaks fully covered in white sheet of snow, you can just stare at them in peace away from all the worries of life.
The trek to Gomukh is fairly easy. Gomukh is the end of the Gangotri glacier and hence the source of the divine Ganges river. Gomukh basically means cows mouth, it is believed the snout looked like cows mouth in past. Most religious people consider it as a blessing to visit Ganges. Even if you are not religious you will be astonished to see how huge the snout is and how small you are in front of it. Tapovan lies below Mt. Shivling peaks and has beautiful lakes, explore the area and head to Neel Taal to get clear views of Mt. Meru.
Reach there in two hours and return before lunch. Relax and retire for the night.

Day 6 Tapovan to Chirbassa

Rise early to cherish the few last moments in front of legendary mountains who are shining in the bright sun rays. Mt. Shivling looks prettier as never before, passing its beauty to the adjacent peaks. Before starting your trek do not miss the sunrise from Tapovan because the peaks look different when the rays fall on them.Witness the picturesque lofty peaks and admirable surroundings in the morning and bid adieu to them.
After steep descend to Gomukh, walk down the terrain alongside Bhagirathi river. It will be a 6-7 hours trek till Chirbassa. Then you will be back to the same pine forests. Not to your surprise, you will be camping near the river, in between the mountains, under the pine trees...!!

Day 7 Chirbassa to Gangotri

Today’s trek is a steep and tough descend through the area of moraines, you have to be very careful while descending. Capture the last sight of Mt. Shivling and bid it goodbye, Wake up to realize that this will be the last day of the trek. Trek for around 4-5 hours covering 9km to Gangotri. You will enter again in the Gangotri National Park. You can catch up streams and waterfalls to refills water bottles.
When you reach the Gangotri hotel visit Gangotri temple and witness Ganga Aarti there.
The arrangements will be made in a hotel at Gangotri.

Day 8 Departure to Dehradun

Have a final cup of morning tea in the mighty land of Gangotri. Say final good bye to your fellow trekkers, exchange numbers, and lots of memories. Take a wonderful group picture and get into the cab that will ride you back to Dehradun. This will a 8 hours ride, between the mountains, valleys and Bhagirathi river. The river which guided us throughout the trek.
The certificates will be given and after some beautiful photos, Then after the scenic drive from Gangotri to Dehradun you reach Dehradun 6 to 07 pm evening.

- If the cancellations are made 30 Days before the trip, 25% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- If cancellations are made within 10-30 days before the trip, 30% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
- If cancellations are made within 0-10 days before the trip, Transfer your trek (same trek, same batch) to your friend. No cash refund.
- In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get cancelled. In such cases operator will try their best to provide an alternate feasible. However a cash refund will not be applicable for the same.

By Bus:-

The regular bus service from Delhi to Dehradun, from Delhi’s (ISBT Kashmere Gate).
We would suggest you to take only government buses from (ISBT Kashmere Gate). Private buses run from outside of ISBT and they are not trust worthiness.
Usually buses drop you at Dehradun ISBT. From there you have to come to Dehradun Railway Station through Ola/ Uber Cab and Vikram , Tata Sumo or similar vehicles to go Dehradun Railway Station at 6:00am.

Pick-up from dehradun to Gangotri is not included in the cost of the trek.

Based upon your request we will arrange a pick up and drop from Dehradun to Gangotri and back to dehradun. This will be shared equally by the team members on actual basis. You pay directly to the driver/transporter. The fare is Rs 6500 for a Tata Sumo/Mahindra Maxx one way. This can accommodate 6 to 8 people. A Tempo Traveller charges Rs 9000 (12-14 seat) one way. This is NOT included in TREK FEE and to be paid directly to the driver/owner.
