Best Time for the Har Ki Dun trek

The Best Time to Visit Har Ki Dun Trek is from March to June and September to Mid of December. Har ki Dun trek is widely toured in summer as well as winter. The Har ki dun trek package is run around the year leaving the monsoon season when this trek is not accessible. You can try alternate treks for the monsoon season as Valley of Flowers. Day 1 - Dehradun to Sankri
Day 1 - Dehradun to Sankri

Har ki Doon Trek Organizer will begin the trip from Dehradun in the early morning. At 6:30 AM, your journey will begin to reach Sankri. You will travel along the National Highway 123 and cover a distance of 210 kilometers. This may take around 9 hours to reach Sankri and these hours are going to indulge your eyes with several picturesque locations on the way.
There will be many pleasant destinations on the way to Sankri. The twisting roads will pass you through the exciting locations of Mussoorie, Kempty fall, and Purola. You will camp at the quaint village, 13 kilometers inside Govind National Park.

Day 2: Drive from Sankri to Taluka. Trek Start from Taluka to Puani Garaat

The second will include all the fun from Sankri to Taluka. We will start a drive from Sankri to cover the distance of around 12 kilometers. This one-hour long journey will bring you to Taluka, from where you will start a trek to Puani Garaat. The river and the wooden bridge will give an ancient feel while trekking. On reaching Taluka, you will see the beautiful mountains of Uttarakhand. The village has a few houses and an exciting Himalayan range.
On the next hour of trekking, you will reach the bridge on a tributary of the Supin river. After crossing the bridge, you will reach a camping ground where you can start camping also. Here, you can also perform various exciting activities like, climbing and crossing the roads. You will explore Gangaad, a hamlet with a few inhabitants, as the next activity of the trip. The place is rich with majestic views, lush greens, wild orchids, and snow-capped peaks. Though this trekking is quite arduous, the pleasant night stay with the stars will soothe the time.

Day 3: Puani Garaat to Kalkatiyadhaar

This is the time to explore Osla town. It is a small town where you will reach after an hour of hiking. Osla is a small village, which is located 8,500 feet above sea level. You can take blessings by visiting Lord Shiva temple and witness the miraculous architecture of the temple. The trek from Osla begins by crossing two streams, where the second stream has a wooden bridge to reach the mountain bend. There will be two more meadows below the valley over Supin. The wooden bridge will lead you to the grasslands of Dev Thach, Bali Pass, and Ruinsara River. You will witness wheat fields while moving to the inhabited areas. The confluence of Supin and Ruinsara will make your day. The majestic views of Black Peak and Bandarpoonch will add more pleasure to the trekking experience. With constant climbing, you will soon reach flat land namely Kalkatiyadhaar; this is your next campsite.

Day 4: Kalkatiyadhaar to Har-Ki-dun and back to Kalkatiyadhaar

This is the most important day of the Har ki Dun Trek package. Today, you will start trekking to Kalkatiyadhaar along with mesmerizing views on the way. We will keep the eyes on the glacier basin which has moraines and alpine meadows. Here, swaying and tall pine trees will make your day while crossing the pastures of Dev Thach. Here is a place where two rivers meet and then it further bifurcates into two ways. One way brings us to Har ki Doon and the other takes us to Ruinsara Taal, Bali Pass.
The peaks of Har ki Doon and Hata Peak will propel you while climbing. We will keep climbing by putting more and more enthusiasm. After the gradual incline on a wooden bridge, you will reach the Har Ki Doon. Maninda Taal, Borasu Pass, Jaundar Glacier, and Swargarohini peaks are giving you sufficient locations to explore as the bonus of a trekking trip. After collecting all the gems in memories, this is the time to return to your camp located at Kalkatiyadhaar.

Day 5: Kalkatiyadhaar to Puani Garaat Via Osla

After a tiring yesterday, we will travel back to the village Puani Garaat. This returning trek will include Osla on the way. After around 3,500 feet downhill, you will reach the required place in 5 hours. The next 6.5 kilometers are the easy trekking experiences that you can grab after having a relishing breakfast. The enticing charm of the Himalayan range will encourage you to walk more. You can again collect the random moments with snow-clad peaks while reaching your camp at Puani Garaat.

Day 6: Puani Garaat to Taluka; drive to Sankri from Taluka

We will start for Taluka today, by moving ahead from Puani Garaat. The 10-kilometer long trail, along the river, will take around 5 hours to get complete. By seeing forests and bridges, we will gradually reach the Taluka.
On reaching Taluka, we will start a drive to Sankri with an overnight stay. With the local language, communication, food, and culture, there is much more to explore in one night, if you wish to do so.

Day 7: Drive Sankri to Dehradun

On this day, we will leave Sankri with a heavy heart. The majestic and overwhelming trip has come to an end now. We will need to depart early in the morning as the journey is going to take around 9 to 10 hours to reach Dehradun. Har ki Doon Trek Organizer can also arrange your transport on the discussion.

If cancellations are made within 0-10 days before the trip, Transfer your trek (same trek, same batch) to your friend. No cash refund.

In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get canceled. In such cases, the operator will try their best to provide an alternate feasible. However, a cash refund will not be applicable for the same.

By Bus:-
The regular bus service from Delhi to Dehradun, from Delhi’s (ISBT Kashmere Gate).
We would suggest you take only government buses from (ISBT Kashmere Gate). Private buses run from outside of ISBT and they do not have trustworthiness.
Usually, buses drop you at Dehradun ISBT. From there you have to come to Dehradun Station through Ola/ Uber Cab and Vikram, Tata Sumo, or similar vehicles to go Dehradun Railway Station at 6:00 am.

Pick-up from Dehradun to Sankri is not included in the cost of the trek.

Based upon your request we will arrange a pick-up and drop from Dehradun to Sankri and back to Dehradun. This will be shared equally by the team members on an actual basis. You pay directly to the driver/transporter. The fare is Rs 5500 for a Tata Sumo/Mahindra Maxx one way. This can accommodate 6 to 8 people. A Tempo Traveller charges Rs 9000 (12-14 seats) one way. This is NOT included in TREK FEE and is to be paid directly to the driver/owner.
If you wish to reach our Trek Base Sankri on your own by public transportation:
There are 2/3 privately operated buses from Dehradun (near DDN railway station on Gandhi road) To Sankri. The 200 Km journey will take around 10/12 hours. The busses start at 5:30; & 6:00; & 7:00 am onward.
While returning from Sankri take the morning bus to Dehradun/Vikasnagar and reach by 7 pm.
You will reach Sankri at 5:00 pm.

Food from dehradun to Sankri is not included in the trek cost
