There are 2/3 privately operated buses from Dehradun (near DDN railway station on Gandhi road) To Sankri. The 200 Km journey will take around 10/12 hours. The busses start at 5:30; & 6:00; & 7:00 am onward.
You will reach Sankri at 5:00 pm.

Also, the Juda-ka-Talab is frozen from the month of December to mid of March.
Day three of Kedarkantha trekking starts from the Juda-ka-Talab to the Kedarkantha base camp a distance of around 3.5kms making it super comfy trekking and giving tourists much better comfort in Kedar Kantha base camp.
Today will be the summit day starting from Kedarkantha base camp to the Kedarkantha peak and right after descent to the Juda-ka-Talab the distance spanning around 9 km and the next day Juda-ka-Talab to Sankri which will end up our memorable trekking journey.

Kedarkantha trek height is ranging between 3800m (12,500 ft) from sea level making it one of the best beginner treks in Uttarakhand India.
Kedarkantha trek stands at the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary. However, the Kedar Kantha trek height is only partly responsible, when calculating difficulty levels. Although the entire Kedar Kantha trek route is made up of gradual ascends and descends, you may have to face some steep climbs. You will also have to depend on torch lights during dark hours. The last 100 ft or so can be strenuous. It is challenging, but also enjoyable. Since the trek difficulty level is easy to moderate, anyone can go on this trek.
The Kedar Kantha trekking trail starts from Sankri (6,500 ft), goes past Juda Ka Talab (9,000 ft), followed by Kedarkantha base camp (11,250 ft), and then onwards to the summit (12,500 ft). The Kedarkantha base camp is easy to cover and has mostly soft ascends. From the closest Kedar Kantha base camp to the summit, you may have to put in a bit more effort. However, even then it is doable. Do keep in mind that the difficulty level of the trek may increase during the winter months when snowfall in the Kedar Kantha winter trek.

Kedarkantha temperature during the winter season ranges from 10-16degree Celcius during the day to as low as -4 degrees Celcius during the night. After sundown, the cold wind starts and Kedarkantha temperature drops dramatically.  During the months of January and February, Kedarkantha is generally covered with snow and you would realize that the Kedarkantha weather is chilling cold even during the day. It is recommended to have woolen clothes with proper layering to deal with the cold Kedarkantha temperature in winter.

Kedarkantha trek in November is basically chill weather. And in December rolls in the snow to get really cold. Kedarkantha winter trek temperature falls below 0 degrees at nightfall. The mercury reading ranges from 0 degrees to -6 degrees Celsius after sunset. Snowfall and frost are common occurrences, and you can expect fresh layers of White Blanket sheets.
The temperature remains at 10-16 degrees Celsius during the daytime, but nights experience constant sub-zero levels. It can also get occasionally windy. You should be carrying proper winter clothes.

Day 1 - Dehradun to Sankri
Day 1 - Dehradun to Sankri

Today, the Kedarkantha Trek organizer will begin the exciting trekking. We will start from Dehradun to reach Sankri early in the morning, at 6:30 AM. This 210 kilometers long journey is going to offer you scenic views. Your next 9 hours will let you make a collection of pictorial views. The entire drive will be pleased with the enticing sights of Garhwal. You will pass through the twisting roads and the exotic locals of Mussoorie, Barko. On reaching Sankri village, you will create a camp at the quaint village. This is approximately 13 kilometers inside the Govind National Park.

Finally, we have reached the ground from where we will begin the trek from Sankri to Juda ka Talaab. Juda ka Taalab has an altitude of 9100 feet. To pursue the trekking, we will start early in the morning after some warm-up exercise for required acclimatization. On the way to trekking, the beautiful village of Sankri will motivate you. The pond ringed by pine and oak trees will propel the night you will stay here.

Kedarkantha Trek organizer has planned this day for a trek from Juda ka Taalab to Kedarkantha Base. Juda ka Taalab is a beautiful lake surrounded by pine trees. The winter season freezes it that becomes an enthralling place for all the fun activities. You can walk on the ice and enjoy the slopes. Kedarkantha Trek organizer will arrange the guide to teach you some great trekking skills for the slopes. You can make bigger footsteps. After completing this 4 kilometers long journey in around 2 hours, we will reach our destination that is the Kedarkantha base camp. Kedarkantha base camp lies at an altitude of 11,250 feet. The beauty of this place is very promising. You can set the camp amidst the pine and oak trees. Lying on the meadows and seeing the stars will remove all the fatigue you have collected while trekking.

Day 4 - Trek to Kedarkantha Summit and Descend to Juda ka Talaab

The day is more exciting than yesterday as today we will cover a long way to trek. We will begin the exciting journey to conquer the peak. This can be a challenge for you as the climb is so steep to cover. You will gradually reach the peak of Kedarkantha after trekking through the dense forest. Meanwhile, you will witness mountain valleys, ranges, and pine trees. The beauty of feather-like clouds will amaze you. The majesty of Dhauladhar range, Chainsheel Pass, Har ki Dun valley, and Rupin valley is worth to see. Swargarohini, Black Peak, and Bandarpoonch are the other enticing places of this trekking journey. The other peaks include Gangotri, Yamnotri, Jorkanden, and Draupadi ka Danda.
You can take a halt at the top and after a few hours, you will head back to the campsite. The ascending journey will include 3,850 meters. After taking sufficient rest in the journey and exploring the different places of the way, we will get prepared for a descent to Juda ka Talab where we are going to have an overnight stay.

This is the time to wrap the journey and to start trekking from Juda ka talaab to Sankri. You will witness the majestic views of the Himalayas. The snow-clad peaks will make your journey interesting. When the sun will rise behind the pine trees and will spread the rays on the meadows, your trek will become more pleasant. The views of Har ki Doon and its beautiful meadows will give you a chance to click more pictures.Being the last day of the Kedarkantha Trek package, it can be a little overwhelming for you. Pick-up from Dehradun to Sankri is not included in the cost of the trek.
Based upon your request we will arrange a pickup and drop from Dehradun to Sankri and back to Dehradun. This will be shared equally by the team members on an actual basis. You pay directly to the driver/transporter. The fare is Rs 5500 for a Tata Sumo/Mahindra Maxx one way. This can accommodate 6 to 8 people. A Tempo Traveller charges Rs 9000 (12-14 seats) one way. This is NOT included in TREK FEE and is to be paid directly to the driver/owner.

While returning from Sankri take the morning bus to Dehradun/Vikasnagar and reach by 7 pm.
